Making pita chips is a simple process that involves a few simple ingredients. You start with pita bread which can either be store-bought, or you can make your own pita bread from scratch. Simply brush the bread with oil and a delicious seasoning mixture. Then, cut it into smaller, chip-sized pieces. Bake or air fry until crispy! The chips will be crispy on the outside, and slightly soft on the inside. They are great served warm or at room temperature.

substitution and variations

Substitutions for Pita Bread

Thin and Crispy Chips

Test Kitchen Tip!

If you happen to like your chips on the thinner side, you can make a quick adjustment to this pita chip recipe that you will love, and as an added bonus, you will get DOUBLE the chips! Pita bread naturally splits into two layers. Carefully slice the two layers through, creating two sheets of pita bread. Coat each side in the oil and then continue with the directions as written. You will need to adjust the cooking time down a few minutes to accommodate the thinner layers.
