Grilled Cheese Sandwich

This homemade Grilled Cheese Sandwich is perfectly crispy, irresistibly cheesy, and easy to make. A comfort food classic!

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of Texas toast
  • 4 slices of your choice of cheese, cheddar, American, or a blend
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • tomatoes, sliced for garnish
  • bacon, cooked for garnish
  • avocado, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  • Spread a generous layer of softened butter on one side of each slice of Texas toast.
  • On the non-buttered side of two slices, layer the cheese and any optional ingredients you desire. Top with the remaining two slices, buttered side facing out.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Remove from the skillet, cut in half, and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce or sides.
