Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 ⅔ cups cake flour
  • 1 ⅔ cups bread flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ¼ cups unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ¼ cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups chocolate chips or chunks (I used a combination of both)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl add cake flour, bread flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a separate large bowl, use a hand mixer to cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy, 3 to 5 minutes.
  • With the mixer on low, add eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
  • Slowly add dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Scoop out 2 tablespoon scoops of cookie dough and place them on a large baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Cool on a wire rack before serving.
