Stick Of Butter Rice

Savory baked rice made with French onion soup, beef consommé, and butter; easy, rich, and full of comforting flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice, uncooked (do not rinse)
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed French onion soup
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces)condensed beef consommé
  • ½ cup (1 stick or 113 grams) unsalted butter, sliced into 9 equal-sized pats
  • green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Lightly spray a 9×9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In the prepared baking dish, add the uncooked rice, French onion soup, and beef consommé. Use a spoon or silicone spatula to stir everything together until well combined.
  • Evenly place the pats of butter over the surface of the rice mixture.
  • Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, remove the foil and return the dish to the oven. Bake, uncovered, for an additional 30 minutes, or until the rice is cooked through and tender.
  • Remove the baking dish from the oven. Fluff the rice gently with a fork and serve hot garnished with green onions.
