Preheat the oven to 425°F. Lightly spray a 9×9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
In the prepared baking dish, add the uncooked rice, French onion soup, and beef consommé. Use a spoon or silicone spatula to stir everything together until well combined.
Evenly place the pats of butter over the surface of the rice mixture.
Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, remove the foil and return the dish to the oven. Bake, uncovered, for an additional 30 minutes, or until the rice is cooked through and tender.
Remove the baking dish from the oven. Fluff the rice gently with a fork and serve hot garnished with green onions.
