Place the quinoa in a fine-mesh strainer and rinse under cool running water for 1 to 2 minutes to remove its natural bitter coating.
In a medium saucepan with a tight-fitting lid, combine the rinsed quinoa, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover with the lid, and let it simmer for 15 minutes, or until the liquid is absorbed and the quinoa looks tender.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and leave it covered for 5 minutes to allow the quinoa to finish steaming and become fluffy.
Remove the lid and gently fluff the quinoa with a fork. Serve warm, or let it cool and store in an airtight container for meal prep.
