Creamy garlic parmesan orzo made with rich cream, butter, and cheese, an easy, comforting side or main dish in just minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup orzo pasta, cooked according to package instructions
  • ¼ cup (½ stick / 57 grams) unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 ½ cups (357 grams) heavy whipping cream
  • 1 ½ cups (150 grams) parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste
  • teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Once the butter is fully melted, stir in the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Pour in the heavy whipping cream and stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  • Reduce the heat to low. Add the parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Stir continuously until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Add the cooked orzo to the skillet and stir until fully coated in the sauce. Let it warm through for another 1 to 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve the creamy orzo warm, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
