Cheesy Lasagna Garlic Bread layers buttery Italian bread with beef marinara, mozzarella, and cheddar. Bakes golden and bubbly in 35 minutes!

Ingredients

Garlic Bread Base

  • 1 loaf Italian bread
  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • ¾ teaspoon Italian seasoning

Lasagna Topping

  • ½ pound ground beef
  • 2 cups (514 g) marinara sauce, divided
  • 1 cup (113 g) shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 cup (113 g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the bread

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Slice the loaf in half lengthwise and place both halves on the baking sheet, cut side up.
  • Stir together the softened butter, Parmesan, garlic salt, and Italian seasoning. Spread the mixture over the cut sides of the bread.

Make the meat sauce

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and cooked through, 5 to 7 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain off excess grease.
  • Reduce the heat to low. Stir in 1 cup of the marinara and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, until heated through. Remove from the heat.

Assemble and bake

  • Spoon the beef mixture over both halves of the bread. Top each half with ½ cup mozzarella and ½ cup cheddar.
  • Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted. Broil for 2 to 3 minutes more, watching closely, until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  • Garnish with parsley. Slice and serve right away with the remaining 1 cup marinara for dipping.

Air fryer option

  • Prepare the bread through topping. Cut the halves to fit your basket and air fry at 350°F for 4 to 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden.
